VerbouwPro ("we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data when you visit our website or use our services.

We collect and process the following categories of personal data: • Identity data: name, username or a similar identifier • Contact data: email address, phone number, address, postcode and town or city • Business data (for tradespeople): company name, KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number, service area • Technical data: IP address, browser type, time zone, location, operating system • Usage data: information about how you use our website and services • Communication data: messages you send through our platform

We collect data in several ways: • Directly from you: when you create an account, post a job or contact us • Automatically: through cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website • From third parties: such as verification services for tradespeople's business details

We use your personal data for the following purposes: • Providing and managing our services • Processing and completing transactions • Enabling communication between clients and tradespeople • Verifying the identity of tradespeople • Improving our website and services • Sending service-related notices • Sending marketing communications (with your consent) • Complying with legal obligations

We may share your data with: • Other users: when you post a job or send a quote, relevant details are shared with the other party • Service providers: who help us deliver our services (hosting, payments, email) • Authorities: when we are legally required to do so We never sell your personal data to third parties.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or theft. These include data encryption, secure servers and restricted access to personal data.

We do not keep your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. You will find a full overview per category in the table in section 7a below. Summary: • Account data: 2 years after your account is deleted (legitimate interest) • Job data: 2 years after completion (legitimate interest + legal obligation for invoices) • Messages: configurable per user, 2 years by default (consent) • Invoices: 7 years (legal obligation under Dutch tax law) • Reviews: 2 years after publication (legitimate interest) • Analytics: 26 months (consent) At the end of the retention period your data is automatically deleted or anonymised. You can also request earlier deletion through your account settings.

Your privacy in communication matters to us. No unnecessary monitoring: • We do NOT actively read your chat messages • Messages are NOT scanned for marketing or profiling • There is no automated analysis of message content • Our moderation team only looks at the conversation concerned after a formal report (via the report button) When we DO access messages: • When a user reports unwanted behaviour • When fraud or illegal activity is suspected • When ordered to by the authorities on a valid legal basis Chat message retention: • Active conversations: indefinitely, for as long as the conversation is active • Inactive conversations (no messages for > 6 months): archived automatically • Archived conversations: deleted after 2 years • You can delete conversations yourself earlier through your account settings

You have the following rights regarding your personal data: • Right of access: you can ask which data we hold about you • Right to rectification: you can have incorrect data corrected • Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your data • Right to restriction: you can ask us to restrict the processing • Right to data portability: you can request your data in a structured format • Right to object: you can object to certain processing Step-by-step procedure for exercising your rights: 1. Go to Settings > Privacy in your account, or 2. Send an email with your request to support@verbouwpro.nl 3. We verify your identity within 3 working days 4. We handle your request within 30 days (statutory deadline) 5. You receive a confirmation once your request has been completed For data exports: • You receive your data in JSON format • The download link is valid for 7 days • The export contains all your account details, jobs and messages

We apply the principle of data minimisation in line with the AVG (the Dutch name for the GDPR): • We only collect data that is strictly necessary for our services • We do not ask for sensitive personal data (religion, health, etc.) • Location data is only used at postcode-area level • Your exact address is never shared with other users • Messages are not automatically scanned for marketing Which data is required? • For clients: name, email, town or city • For tradespeople: name, email, company name, phone, service area Optional data (your choice): • Profile photo • KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number • Website • Extended company description
