Safety
How do I know whether a tradesperson is reliable?
Look at the profile, read reviews from other customers, and chat through the platform first before making arrangements.
What is a KvK number and why does it matter?
KvK stands for Kamer van Koophandel (the Dutch Chamber of Commerce). Every officially registered business in the Netherlands has a unique KvK number (8 digits). If a tradesperson shows a KvK number on their profile, it means: 1) The business is officially registered with the Chamber of Commerce, 2) You can look up the business on kvk.nl to check that the details are correct, 3) It gives you certainty that you are working with a registered business owner. Tip: always check on kvk.nl that the company name and the KvK number match before you agree to a large job.
How do I check a KvK number?
Go to kvk.nl and search for the KvK number or the company name. You will then see the official company details, the business address and whether the company is still active. This is free and publicly accessible.
How do I report suspicious behaviour?
Click "Report" on the profile or in the message window. Our team investigates all reports within 24 hours.
Tips for staying safe?
Communicate through the platform, make clear written agreements, do not pay the full amount in advance, and trust your instincts.
Reviews & ratings
How does the review system work?
Once a job has been completed, the client can leave a review. Reviews consist of a star rating (1-5) and, optionally, a written review. All reviews are published on the tradesperson's profile.
Are reviews verified?
Reviews can only be posted by clients who have actually completed a job through VerbouwPro with the tradesperson concerned. Our system checks this automatically.
How is the average score calculated?
The average score is the arithmetic mean of all star ratings received. Every review carries equal weight, regardless of its date.
Can I object to a review?
Yes, as a tradesperson you can object to a review you think is unfair. Contact us at support@verbouwpro.nl with the review ID and your objection. We assess every objection within 14 working days. Legitimate reasons for removal are: false identity, factual inaccuracies, offensive language, or reviews unrelated to the job carried out.
Can a tradesperson respond to reviews?
Yes, tradespeople can respond to reviews through their profile. This lets you share your side of the story and show that you take feedback seriously.
Are negative reviews removed?
Negative reviews are not removed automatically. Only reviews that breach our guidelines (e.g. hate speech, false claims, unrelated content) are removed after investigation.
